Client Testimonials For
Samirs Combat Reaction
To whom it may concern,
In writing this letter of recommendation, it is my goal to provide
a testimonial as it pertains to the training of the Use of Force
curriculum by Samir Seif. Having been a student of Samir Seifs’
Combat Reaction school for many years, and having gone through
Use of Force training under his guidance numerous times I can
attest to the fact that his training methods are lawful, methodical,
and effective. Samir demonstrates a thorough and detailed knowledge
of the laws relating not only to Use of Force, but also the Charter
of Rights and Freedoms. In training students, Samir highlights
the Use of Force continuum and makes it abundantly clear that
any force applied should be less than or equal to force received.
Personally, I have used Samirs’ training methods extensively.
Having been employed in the security services field for over four
years, I have dealt with, and diffused, many complex and potentially
dangerous situations involving unreasonable personalities using
tactics taught by Samir. Verbal communication and psychological
analysis are aspects which are emphasized in the training provided
by Samir, and both have become invaluable assets in many situations.
While the training provided by Samir includes many useful physical
aspects, such as the ability to restrain an uncooperative person
without inflicting undue harm, it is the written portion of Samirs’
training package which serves as the foundation for this excellent
training. Being a third year McMaster University student, I can
appreciate the clarity and depth of Samirs’ extensive written
Use of Force module.
In closing, I wish to stress that Samir Seif is an extremely
suitable candidate for the teaching of Use of Force, and the laws
pertaining to it.

Anton Ovrutsky

Chris Riegert
Protection Officer Supervisor
Total Security Management
Toronto, ONT
To whom it may concern,
My name is Chris and I have known Samir for over 5 years, with
almost 2 of those spent training with him several times a week.
I met Samir when he was brought to the bar I was working at
as a consultant to train the staff, and help us better handle
the many problematic situations we had there. I was the typical
rookie “bouncer” along with all the negative connotations and
immaturities attached to that title. Through his guidance and
training I was changed into a professional member of a Samir built
security team, and eventually progressed quite far. I was promoted
to Head of Security at two major establishments above 30+ staff.
Samir’s training was mandatory for all our employees, and through
his program we were able to drastically reduce both our number
of, and severity of incidences. We quickly became the industry
standard of excellence recognized by local police. I also became
the assistant instructor for Samir in his Non-Aggressive Tactical
Solutions program. From this position I not only got to learn
more from Samir, but I got to establish a personal relationship
to compliment our professional one. I was later hired by a large
security firm in Toronto as a supervisor of over 200 security
officers. My entire growth to this level is thanks primarily to
Samir’s training and guidance.
Samir has established a fool-proof system to apply Use of Force
to the training of security personnel. His method strongly emphasizes
a de-escalating rather than over-powering approach to problems,
reinforced with seamless teamwork. He teaches one to control an
environment through a strict rank-based order, establishing a
strong rapport with clients, and above all a reliance on sound
judgment. Violence is very unprofessional and is to always be
avoided. However, occasionally there is no other option, and Samir’s
students are professionally taught how to correctly handle these
through proper technique, a team based approach, and with stress
on creating the smallest disturbance possible. While martial skills
are taught and perfected, the emphasis of the program is on non-physical
control. Students are trained to be pro-active with speech and
a strong team presence rather than reactive with the use of muscle.
Samir is a very loveable character who instructs with a warm smile
and humorous breaks to soften his serious message. He automatically
earns respect through his lead by example style, his martial arts
mastery, and his vast array of credible real-world experience.
A student really absorbs the message when they know it has been
perfected by someone who has been there, faced the problems, and
learned the hard way what works and what does not.
I have worked alongside Samir and learned from his example my
entire career. His outstanding martial arts success while still
running his school and serving his family is a testament to his
driven work ethic. His character has inspired me beyond security
training. Non-Aggressive Tactical Solutions will provide a perfect
foundation to any security service. I hope this brief letter has
provided you some insight into the character of this teacher.
I would be happy to further discuss any details pertaining to
my experiences with him.

Dear Samir Seif:
I wanted to write this letter to let you know how much I have
both learned and enjoyed your lessons. I started taking your classes
nearly two years ago and since then I have become much more confident
with defending myself in nearly any situation. With the knowledge,
training, coaching and support you have given me I have set forth
goals for myself and have chosen a career path towards becoming
a professional athlete fighter. With your guidance and my dedication
and love for the sport I believe I am capable of making a good
living as a professional fighter and also become a well rounded
fighter. You have started and now lead my career as a fighter,
with three consecutive wins and have given me so much more then
I could describe in words. You have strengthened me, and I am
grateful for the relationship we have. In addition, I am more
than happy to represent Samir's Combat Reaction. Thank you so
much for everything and please feel free to use this as a letter
of recommendation, I would gladly discuss with anyone the great
job you have done in this field of self defence and martial arts.
Sincerely,
Josh Fitzsimmons

RE: Samir Seif – Perfect Martial Arts Instructor!
To Whom It May Concern:
To briefly describe myself, I’ve been in the insurance industry
for over 5 years now and going into 6 years. I was a Claim Examiner
for almost 5 years, dealing with various claims situation such
as fraud, fires, accidents, bodily injury, and statement of claims.
I dealt closely with defence counsels during the course of a statement
of claim or bodily injury claims that had counsel assigned to
them. I’m currently a Risk Services Coordinator and I provide
advice on ways that business owners can minimize risk and protect
them with providing proper coverage from financial loss resulting
from fraud, automobile accidents, fire, theft, storms, and other
events that can cause damages.
I’ve known Samir Seif for approximately 5-7 years now and even
when Samir didn’t know me, he was always very humble and respectful
to people he didn’t know personally, which was me at one point.
I know that Samir has been training in martial arts disciplines
since about the age of 6 years old and was always interested in
combative applications and in my eyes and for a fact has a great
amount of experience in combative training and teaching as he’s
been teaching combative applications for over 10 years now. I
started training with Samir approximately over 2 years ago and
I can’t say enough how much I enjoy training at his school and
how much I’ve learned in that time. Everyone in the school is
very humble which starts from Samir as our instructor, which you
don’t see at other schools as I have acquaintances who have trained
at other schools and seems that they always had to deal with bully’s…..that’s
not a problem at our school.
I don’t think, I know that Samir is the perfect candidate for
any martial arts/ trainer job. He’s very patient, humble, knowledgeable,
always keeping up to date and very clear with his instructions
during class. I guess you can say he’s very “user friendly” in
the way he teaches his classes. I truly feel very comfortable
and confident with the training I’ve received over the last couple
of years, which provides me with the correct knowledge of how
much force may be used in a given situation.
Thank you,
Mike Castro

Combat reaction is an extremely realistic Defensive art. Samir's
instruction goes through the mental aspect of an unwanted confrontation
to a flow of physical movements that enables the student to exert
enough force to control his/her attacker, to end up being in a
confident safe position.
I have been a student of Samir for over 11 years. I first came
to Samir after finishing school on a sports scholarship and decided
to enrol in a martial art to try and keep a competitive edge.
Not knowing that 11 years later I would be a senior student and
developed such a close relationship with Samir.
Samir's knowledge and dedication to his art and use of force
action is obvious by just a glance of his resume. Since he was
young Samir has been involved in not only learning and being a
student himself, but teaching over the yearÆs form athletic wrestling,
use of force and weaponry seminars, Muay Thai coach and developing
combat reaction. It always amazes me that the knowledge and skill
Samir possess he still finds ways to improve his skills and teaching
ability coming to class with new drills, new ideas to enable his
students to learn quickly and always be updated with the new training
methods. Samir is also an instructor who if a student asks a certain
question or reacts physically different to a technique, Samir
will go home and research the answer or reversal and next class
will demonstrate to his students.
With all his skills and knowledge, the use of force techniques,
training as a professional and teaching his student is not a job
to Samir, this is his passion and love and would be a great candidate
for a position.
I can be reached anytime for any further questions or comments.
Sincerely
Rick Burn

Samir has been an inspiration to me throughout the past few years.
Not only dedicated to his sport, but to helping others as well.
Both working for him, and training in his Use of Force Program
I have always had new knowledge and positive feedback from him.
Seeing him in the gym, he is always willing to lend his wealth
of knowledge to anybody who asks. Always with a positive attitude
he can brighten any person’s day. I have known Samir for four
years now, and every time I talk to him, I always walk away with
a smile on my face because of his positive outlook on life, and
the wise words he gives when I am upset or frustrated over something.
He truly is an amazing person with the best qualities, strength,
honour, and pride.

“Sifu Samir embodies all the qualities one should look for when
seeking a teacher in any of his disciplines. I can promise anyone
who trains with Samir, they will be limited only by their desire
to learn and their ability to execute, as his ability to tailor
his teaching to each student is matchless. The privelege of calling
him brother dwarfs the price of admission.” March 13, 2010

“Samir is a friend I am honored to recommend. I not only worked
with him, but also trained briefly doing cardio kick boxing. When
working as a doorman, I always felt much safer when Samir was
working with me. He is forever alert and conscious of the environment.
Even though Samir is extremely proficient in numerous martial
art modalities, he was always polite and humble. While many would
opt for confrontation, I learned from Samir how to quickly and
non-violently neutralize potentially explosive situations. One
thing to keep in mind with my recommendation - almost 9 years
have passed since I worked with Samir. During this time, his knowledge,
skill and achievements have grown tremendously. If anyone has
any questions about Samir, his ability, his personality or character
then feel free to contact me. Sincerely, Gene Anger March 13,

“I have had the great honor of knowing Samir for nearly 5 years
as a fellow athlete, advocate and instructor of martial arts.
As athletes, Samir and I both represented Canada at the 2007 World
Muay Thai Federation's Pro-Am Championships in Bangkok, Thailand.
Samir demonstrated true Warrior Spirit and superior Muay Thai
technique, securing a Bronze Medal despite a debilitating foot
injury that, in my opinion, was the only reason that he did not
win Gold. As advocates, Samir and I where both active participants
in the Canadian Amateur Muay Thai Association of Ontario (CAMTAO)
for approximately 3-4 years. During that time, Samir provided
valuable input on the direction of the organization and was often
looked to for counsel when the organization faced challenging
times. Samir proved dedicated to the promotion of Muay Thai in
Ontario and Canada. As instructors, Samir and I have both operated
our own training centers and our athletes have competed against
each other. Samir's athletes are TOP NOTCH. They are well trained,
but come out confident and empowered. He is clearly an elite trainer
in all regards. His students respect him. He and his team embody
PEACE AND LOVE...STRENGTH AND HONOR -character traits of true
martial artists - that are unfortunately hard to come by these
days. Samir is a warrior, a gentleman and a force to reckon with.
I am grateful to know him and will always be a fan of the Sandman!
